I want to make a pavlova but have no parchment or greaseproof paper, Can I use tinfoil or cook it directly on an oven tray? Many thanks.

i don;t know about tin foil but unless your tray is brand new and non stick i wouldn't risk it!
The old fashioned way is to butter/oil a baking tray and generously flour. You can then draw your template in the flour and spread you meringue on the tray.

It does work but you have to make sure you've got a good dry meringue mix and not a runny one.

Thanks folks, I found some brown paper I use to line the outside of my Christmas cake tins, and just oiled it, then put the pavlova mix on that. Thankfully it worked a treat!
