Baileys® is the only cream liqueur that guarantees its taste for 2 years from the day it was made, opened or unopened, stored in the in the fridge or not when stored away from direct sunlight at a temperature range of 0-25 degrees centigrade.
One of the keys to achieving this 2 year shelf-life is in our patented process of blending of fresh Irish cream with the spirits and the whiskey without the use of preservatives. The alcohol acts as a natural preservative for the product.

Under normal conditions of storage Baileys has a shelf-life of 30 months.

If you are concerned about a bottle of Baileys® please check the best consumed before date on the bottle - all bottles now carry a best before date. This number is located on the bottom left hand side of the back label. Example : Code 11 20XY would mean that we guarantee the product would taste perfect until that date (XY is the year 2 years from the date of manufacture)
Not long because of the cream in it, so probably best to err on the side of caution and finish it in one sitting:-)
... but you're on AB, so probably closer to 15 minutes, LOL.
Blimey, how could anyone not open a bottle of Baileys and then not drink it in a couple of days?
I've just read that back and that sentence doesn't make sense at all. I blame the vodka!
Too many 'nots' lol.

I think they aim their figures at the ''buy it, hate it, store it'' fraternity.
True Naz. I bought two litre bottles yesterday as Morrisons had it on special offer. Haven't opened it yet but I know it won't last long once I do.
aargghh..I found an unopened bottle in my cupboard dated 8 2009....guess it's not any good?

ohhh,pooooo!!!

So-does that mean that an unfinished bottle from 4-5 months ago is OK?

Many thanks for all the input. This was a bottle that I found in a cuboard whis is not often used and not for booze it must have been an overspill as its dated 2006. So I will have to get some friends around to sample and test, in the name of research of course as its a litre bottle.I will post my results as and when our sampling and testing is concluded. Once again many thanks for some very interesting answers.
Pour a little in a hot coffee ... if it doesn't go lumpy, get it down ya neck, lol
Beat a Tablespoon into butter icing for Cup cake topping or filling in a sponge cake.Delicious.
I recently tried some shot drinks with Baileys in it.! Wow I am hooked on them now.! Asda price £7 a bottle. good price.?
That's a good idea patsyann
Hmmm. I remember looking up Baileys website a couple of years ago and observing that the stated opened shelf life was 6 months, with the recommendation that it be kept in a fridge. So what have they done to it in the meantime, one wonders?
Anyway... Mash a soft banana with a little milk to a creamy consistency and stir in some Baileys...Mmmm!!
You'll know when its gone off - it gets really thick with a horrible smell :(
