nigel slaters squash and turkey bake

having watched this on tv last night am having a bash at it for dinner this evening, using finely chopped chicken instead of turkey mince though.
anyone else see the programme?

I don't see why you couldn't use chicken instead. I think Nigel suggested turkey as it's leaner.

molly, i've just finished an enormouse plateful of it and it was delish!!!!! it would be a good one for using up cooked leftover turkey over christmas i think. highly recommended.

I love Nigel Slater and the dishes he puts together. Have you ever read his book 'Toast' a brilliant read Ethandron, especially for young people like us!! I would use chicken as I can't stand turkey!!

yes, i have 'toast' sitting on the bookcase behind me, all that angel delight, etc., took me right back.
i think the chopped chicken was better than mince as it had some texture to it.

I must search out my copy and read it again! It won some award - brilliant book which took me right back to my childhood. I remember my Mum loved it too. Poor Mum.

I'm a lot better thanks Eth. but the 'bug' has left me feeling drained. All I want to do is sleep and I can't get rid of the constant catarrh!! Yuk!
