Isn't sodium chloride regular pot salt which we use to cook...?
Yes...it's common salt.
Hell, I need one hell of a salt shaker for my field!!!
I asked the above because someone thinks it might not be available.
I gathered...lol

I was confirming it...
She means sodium chlorate - weedkiller for paths and other places where you really DON'T want anything to grow. May still be available.
I used to buy small pots of sodium chlorate from Wilko (it had to be diluted down with water) but it doesn't seem to be available these days. I would be interested to know where it can be purchased too.
Oh! Sale banned in EU from Sept 2009 - back to drawing-board. (I have a huge bag of it ,btw).

Ginge can roslyn and i have some of yours lol
Roundup ... There MUST be foliage there for it to work (as it's systemic)
There are residual weedkillers available, but I prefer to use Roundup. One of our sites has 5 car parks totalling over 6000sq m of block paving and a monthly walk spot zapping does the trick.
What they meant was sodium chlorATE (not IDE - which is common table salt).
Last time I looked, sodium chlorate based herbicides were still available.
The reason they stopped selling it is because it can easily be used to make explosives.
(Shame really, it also makes spectacular rockets!)
It is now sold with a fire retardent added afaik.
..oops, sorry - I didn't read above.
Mr O bought me one of those flamethrower type things from Lidl for around £5. It is SO satisfying to use on weeds
