Red wine recommendations made with Barberis grape?

A while ago a friend gave me a case (generous friend indeed) of the most amazing red wine! all I can remember is the label contained the word "barberis". It can't have been an expensive wine (he was a pub landlord) but I would love to get some more, if only similar. Can anyone help?

Try a Malbec or a Barbera from South American - can get them in Tesco from around £6. Yum :)
