I can't remember what company it was that sold a box kit to make it but this was one of my fave dinners by a country mile and I can't find it anywhere. I think it was orange and not particularly big. Anyone know where I can get it or a homemade version which tastes gert lush?

Hi Goodsoulette, my Tesco's sells the ready Nasi Goreng meal kit by Go Tan. Is this the one you mean? (you can Google and see in images if that's the one). I've had this before and really enjoyed it! Haven't had it in a while but now you've mentioned it, I'll have to get some when I next go to Tesco's! You can find it in their 'foreign' foods section. I'm sure other...

hehe and I thought this was going to be a super quick and satisfying response.
Used to practically live on it when in Singapore many years ago. There are good recipes on internet and all authentic ingredients available in UK.

I've picked a couple of duff ones and they don't taste like this pre mixed spice kit or any i've had at a restaurant. They haven't contained tamarind (sp) is that possibly whats giving it that missing something feeling?
my mum's one is the best no idea how she just throws things in a pan, but if you want a good receipe Rick steins's one is good from taste of the east

Not only do Tesco sell it, they also provide a recipe for it ;-)

You can get a great big tub already made up, in Aldi. It's delicious. I don't actually see any difference between nasi goreng and good old Chinese special fried rice, but the Aldi one is very good.
Buenchico: Thanks for the link. I might just try to cook it myself now that GoodSoul has got me wanting some!
Aldi do a stir fry bag of Nasi Goreng, quite nice although a bit greasy!
must be popular casue they always seem to have sold out when i want some!

aww the prawns look lovely...... but alas they make me scratchy and swollen of late. Go tan is the one, they've changed the packaging but now Ive seen the name thats deffo the stuff. Tuna with mine normally, fried egg and tobasco, I dont make it sound yummy though.
ALDI do the best mixed fried rice / Nasi Goreng in its fridge section for around £2.50, large tub of too, same size of your average take away for half the price! it fills you up after a pint at any weekend-for anyone dead fussy or still hungry they could always add some king prawns etc if they know how to cook them properly. Its not just Aldis red wine that should win awards, lol
ALDI do the best mixed fried rice 'Nasi Goreng' in its fridge section for £2.49, large tub of too, same size as your average take away, but for half the price! it fills you up after a pint at any weekend-for anyone dead fussy or still hungry they could always add some chicken or king prawns etc if they know how to cook them properly. Its a bit greasy but its fried rice after all-no worse than your average take away-so its not just Aldis red wine (Toro Loco Tempranillo) that should win awards, lol :)
