some days are like that aren't they? can't get your head round what to make.
thanks to wiggals question yesterday, i have a sausage casserole in the oven, smells delish!
tomorrow we'll be having cod in breadcrumbs, chunky oven chips and peas.
yesterday we had beans and cheese on toasted carrot and pumpkin bread.
tuesday we had egg, chips and beans because i couldn't be bothered.
monday we had lamb steaks with cauli and roasted carrots and sweet potato.

given you any ideas? :)
Always have this problem...2 freezers always packed full of "stuff" and can't decide. So i've just been down to Tescos and bought some fresh chicken wings which i'll cook in a sticky BBQ sauce and have with salad and spuds from the garden and a big dollop (isn't that a wonderful word) of coleslaw !!!!!
Never had a full freezer, love to cook from scratch,so my freezer isnt full of packet stuff...
poodicat a full freezer does not have to be full of packets. Fresh meat and fish etc can be bought and frozen to use in a recipe from scratch another day, or of course if like me you live alone buy fresh, make multiple dishes and freeze down until required.
Agree mama, but most peoples freezers are full of packet stuff, and the cupboards are full of jars...
Well I do have a jar or 3 LOL bought a jar of pickled cauli yesterday, would have cost far more to make and its my favourite., is why I sometimes have an acid tongue.♥

poodicat, my freezer is full with meat, home grown veg ,left overs, fish my son has caught home made cakes etcand I also cook from scratch.
ethandron Thanks very much for the ideas
hammerman, thats sounds JUST like me lol :) and mamyalynne, I Have a large family, and 92 year old mum who has dementia to look after.I try to be efficient, but with all I have to do, and plus the fact I live in a rural area. I should think about it the night before, but I forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i too like to cook from scratch but my freezer's bursting at the seams at the moment.
top shelf is all meat, bought in bulk, split into portions and frozen. next shelf is pitta bread, garlic bread, breadcrumbs and a couple of pizzas. next one is full of sliced wholemeal seeded sliced bread. next one has frozen peas, chips, sliced potatoes in sauce. next one has some vegetarian things and frozen fish like cod in breadcrumbs and salmon fillets. next one has some ice cream, puds and frozen fresh fruit. bottom bit has containers of cooked leftover chillie, spag bol sauce, veg soup, rice.
i'd agree with mamya, just because you have a full freezer doesn't mean it's all packets. and if it is full of packets, and your shelves are full of jars, so what?? not everyone has the time or inclination to cook everything from scratch.

You are all so brilliant, I and didnt think for one minute any of you were being critical. Im off to get my tea now ,thanks again.
sounds very tasty, can't beat a fry-up can you?
this thread looks more like a competition on who cooks from scratch the most..
Think mercia would take that crown cazz...
I take what I read on here with a pinch of salt poodi..
I quite often find myself leaning against the open fridge door, staring inanely with glazed eyes at all the food within but not fancying any of it. Thank God for Doritos and dips ;-p
