Having friends over Sat Eve and for our meal I'm doing Gammon Steaks with fresh Pineapple, Jacket pots, now what do I do with it Peas & sweetcorn + parsley sauce? - or a big bowl of salad with Balsamic dressing? or both? Starters is Breaded Garlic Mushrooms. + lots of fresh bread? or Garlic Bread?

Surely not...
whole thing sounds lovely! I'd go with both side dishes, I wouldn't go wiith the garlic bread though, just some lovely crusty bread would be great! Wish I could join you!......lol

i love parsely suace with gammon but i wouldn;t do it if your inc the pineapple with the gammon. go for the salad and lots of fresh bread

How about a fresh pineapple and chilli (or red pepper) salsa? This brings the flavours up to date. No parsley sauce though.

You have to be careful with chilli don't you its not to everyones taste, I like the cider sauce idea though ANY RECIPiES? May do white sauce instead, got to have some sort of sauce haven't you?

i think Mark Rae was questioning your use of pineapple with the gammon, rather that suggesting he was having that himself.

i don't think you need a sauce although i would have some mustard to hand

Profitteroles with English strawberries choccy sauce & double Cream, Sherr....

Starters Garlic mushrooms coated in breadcrumbs with a garlic dip.
All prepared Just waiting for the guests now.
A couple of bottles or Rose' Cava (her Fav.)
Sounds lovely Jemisa, can we come, just back from hol and not much in the fridge!

PS - I found out how to do the acute accent on rosé - press control+alt+e - have a go!
