Groundnut is best used for flavouring and frying lightly,i suggest a vegetable oil or sunflower oil for deep fat frying
I use rapeseed oil. It's flavourless, cooks at a high temp and isn't bad for you - it's high in the good fats and low in the bad

thanks all. Will try rapeseed.
Isn't that expensive?

Dunno about you but my DFF takes about 3 litres of oil. I buy a bog standard drum of oil from my local asian shop. Cheap? Me? You betcha :P
