To all meat specialists - I really want to know

My ex always used to say plastic packaging on meat was bad - and my friend's ex used to QC cooked meat and say vague stuff about the noxious gases plastic packaging produced.
So, how harmful is plastic packaging on fresh/cooked meats? And when we get these packaged meat products home, what then is the best way to store them?

I always remove meat from plastic paking as soon as I get it home and wrap in greaseproof paper or similar, not that I think its noxious just that it seems to sweat.
I'm thinking 'quarter cooked' but that don't make much sense in the sentence in the OP where it's used.

I go with quality control, smart's ex used to undertake quality control tests on cooked meat - makes sense to me.
