Some recipies call for baking soda & some say bi-carb ! Are they the same & can they be inter-changed ? If not, what is the difference ?

baking soda, bicarb, sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydrogencarbonate are all different names for the same compound. Interchange at will.
Sodium Bicarbonate is the molecular name for Baking Soda.
