what is the best remedy to get rid of the smell of cooked fish in the kitchen.... thanks

Lemon. Rub a slice on the affected areas and boil the rest.
In future, before you even take the fish out if the fridge, pour about a tablespoonful of ordinary vinegar into a saucer and place that on a worktop out of the way. That quite quickly neutralises the smell once the cooking gets under way.
A chemist once explained exactly why this works to me but I've forgotten, I'm afraid. All I know - since we've been having kippers for Friday breakfast for decades - is that it works.
whilst cooking leave all windows in room open and spray oust after cooking...thats should do the trick...unless you are cookin salmon!
