My OH asked me tonight if I remember the savoury snack from years ago shaped like fish or chips and fish n chip flavour. is he talking rubbish??

no way hes talking aloada rubbish, i used to buy em all the time when i was younger, theyre are like little biscuits. :)

ive seem some around in some shops but they r not the same. they r too salty, never tasted like that b4.

no - my sister loved on them! and they were in newspaper kinda bags.. mind you.. she had vinegar on everything!!

Not Scampi frys, those I do know - usually bought off a card hanging up in pubs!. Ethel's link shows them being called Burton's Fish and chip snacks.

I seem to remember the old packets were newspaper print all over with large red writing /border at the top. My kids used to love them and they were so cheap - cheaper than crisps although the bags were smaller
