Father bought a jar of decaffeinated coffee by mistake, and I don't want to throw it away. How can I buy some caffeine to fix it? And how much should I put in?

I've tried mixing it with normal coffee, but it's too weak.

(we're talking freeze-dried instant here)

this has to be a wind up....
Question Author
Is my local supermarket likely to stock a wind up? How big a packet of a wind up should I buy to correct my 100g jar of Tesco Fair Trade freeze-dried instant coffee? What would a 10g packet of a wind up be likely to cost me? Is it economically sensible to buy a packet of a wind up instead of simply buying a new jar of unadulterated coffee?

Thank you, no.knowledge.

What would be the likely side effects if I consumed the whole packet? Would the caffeine poisoning be mild or acute and would there be any irreparable damage?
Question Author
Oh dear. Looks like the unwelcome side-effects would include death, which is probably classifiable as irreparable damage.

Also: "Caffeinism usually combines caffeine dependency with a wide range of unpleasant physical and mental conditions including nervousness, irritability, anxiety, tremulousness, muscle twitching (hyperreflexia), insomnia, headaches, respiratory alkalosis, and heart palpitations." Which pretty much explains why I started thinking I had vCJD.

Jolly good show.

Also, a little out of the realms of the question I asked, but do you think caffeine would be an effective way of killing somebody? All one would have to do is place some caffeine pills in the victim's handbag and then lace their sugar bowl or such with a plausible yet high dose of caffeine(?)
Take it back to the shop and exchange it. Or keep it and serve it to guests who won't know the difference!
Each time you brew yourself a cup, just crush a pro plus tablet in the mix! Et voila, re-caffeinated coffee!
