Beef Empanadas

As a child, I went to school in San Pedro, California. For lunch, the school would ocassionally serve these wonderful tasting meat pies called beef empanadas. They were pre-packaged. I've searched high and low for these pies, but have had no luck. I've tried several recipes on the internet, unfortunately they weren't the same. By any chance has anyone heard of a company that makes these?

In the UK they are know as Cornish Pasties and you can get them mail order on line.

Didn't that company get busted for serving ground-up homeless people in their burritos to school children a few years back?
