Absolutely! Before serving the flan pour brandy or a dark rum to just cover the surface and quickly light it with a match or lighter. Watch your guests go, "Ooo & Ahhh" while the flames die down. This will also carmelize the sugary surface. It's the same trick for serving plum pudding for Christmas.
