As a Yorkshirewoman visitng London/Brighton, can you tell me what Licquor is? I was in a cafe and the man next to me asked for a pie with licquor.... I left before it arrived but wondered what it was.... is is gravy or sauce or what? TIA

But ... are you not sure where you're going Dollie? London and Brighton are 50 miles apart!!

lol - sorry I meant to type London AND Brighton (I visited both but the cafe was in Brighton) but it didnt come out that way. Anyway, to us Northerners, London and Brighton are next door to each other aren't they ???? x

it's a very East End London thing. I can't think of anything worse. my ex-husband loved it but just the smell made me want to puke!

London and Brighton are next to each other in the same way that Sheffield and Liverpool are next to each other.

Mind you, those two places are both even closer to Scotland than Hertfordshire.

lol - thank you all for great answers. Don't like the sound of making sauce from eel stock but there yer go.......... maybe its us lot up North that are strange xx

a liquor is a spirit like whiskey its the gravy is made with liqour you can get guiness pie

It is a parsley sauce but not like any other parsley sauce - it is very thin. Not my bag!
