I buy good quality tortillas - give them 30 secs in the microwave to warm and soften them - by the time I have put the filling in and carried it through to the dining room the tortilla has gone hard and is difficult to chew.

What am I doing wrong ? Help !

Have you bought the right sort of tortillas? corn tortillas go hard and are best for enchilladas, whereas flour ones are for fajitas and stay soft.
It's because you are doing them in the microwave. I used to work in a restaurant where we microwaved the desserts and they did exactly the same thing.

Try wrapping them in tin foil and putting them in the oven rather than the microwave

i think you're mic-ing them for too long, they only need about 10 seconds or they will go hard as they cool down. we actually had them last week (one of those home kits in a box and very nice too) and it actually said 8 seconds on the box.
