why would you want to freeze it if it's uncooked anyway?

You would be better off storing it in an airtight container.

star24 - did you make a typo? Jasmine rice lasts for about a year (one season's crop to the next). You can, however, freeze cooked rice. Just wait for it to go cold and put manageable portions in plastic bags.
