Sherry Trifle plus plus

A few years ago we had a "traditional christmas" recipe book with a trifle that not only contained sherry but also brandy and port. Our daughter lost the book and we cannot find it anywhere and more importantly we have not been able to replicate the recipe. It packed a real punch! Can anyone help with the recipe? Thanks
