If you go to a health food shop you can buy a baby formulation or chamomilla drops which I gave my baby when he was teething.
Italians have always given this to babies for upset tummies/colic.
The most reliable person to ask would be your Health Visitor or Doctor. I wouldn't take chances when it comes to the health of my children as you have to be very careful in particular about what you give a newborn baby. Their little digestive systems can not cope with much at such a tender age and I would seriously doubt that this would be suitable for a newborn baby - considering that their diet consists of nothing else but milk alone at this stage. Don't believe everything which you are told in a health shop. I enquired about natural products which may alleviate the symptoms of morning sickness and was offered a batch of herbal tea. I declined because it would have cost me 35 and I felt that that was a bit pricey. I mentioned it to my midwife and was told that the ingredients of this herbal tea could have caused a miscarriage and it is not really advisable to drink herbal tea in pregnancy. If the batch of herbal tea had been priced quite reasonably , I would have almost certainly bought it and shudder to think what may have happened. Take no chances with your child's health. Always get professional advice.
