I'm throwing a baby shower in a few weeks time at a mates house - what nibbles should I buy or god forbid make?

Can't go wrong with:

Blue Cheese and Grapes
Turkey drumsticks
Dressed Crab
Cucumber sandwiches
Pickled onions
Crusty bread with pate
Raw veggies and dips.
Don't know if you're in the uk but if you are, most supermarkets do frozen party nibbles such as spring rolls, indian snacks, cheese bites, bacon rolls and loads of other stuff.....iceland is worth a visit too.

Further to the ones mentioned above, a big bowl of sausage rolls always go down well too.
I certainly hope Cheekystar is NOT in the UK. A 'baby shower', whatever next. I suppose your guests will drive along the freeway to your apartment where they will drink soda and talk on their cellphones.

If you are in the US then I apologise, if you are in the UK then for god's sakestop thinking that you are American.
Why dont you prepare some chocolate nipples? Nipples always go down well.
Lucy Thomas.....that's why i asked !!!! although americanisms are creeping more and more into our language. Don't forget that this is a UK based site and although our foreign friends are very welcome, it might be worth mentioning that you are from the USA or France or where ever to avoid pointing them in the direction of Tesco or that lovely little Deli on finchley high street for example

Sorry for going off topic.
Here in the USA, we can buy frozen mini quiches, Swedish meatballs, deli meat platters, cheese cubes with crackers & small bread pieces, vegetables & dip platters, shrimp & sauce platters, spinach artichoke dip, crab dip, etc., etc. to serve if you don't want to assemble anything yourself.

Only you know whether your gaggle of girls would be better pleased by a bowl of lovely veg sticks and low fat Philly, or a hog-box of triple-choc Boasters.

Flaky sausage rolls and Wotsits, followed by jam doughnuts are good for helping your friend understand the home decor implications of her decision to sprog.

Have a good'un

NB your pregnant friend should not be eating pate and I'd be careful with the crab and the soft cheeses too.
