How can i open a jar that is stuck

I have a glass jar or pears with a metal lid and I can't open it. I have tried rubber gloves and everything. What else can I try?

ive always found that hitting the edge of lid onto something solid (brick wall in my kitchen) often helps.
Just be careful you dont hit the glass or hit too hard.

Try running the lid under a hot water tap for a minute or two

Hot water did it. Thank you so much! Now we can have a chocolate and pear tart for our lunch. Mmmm.

easiest way is to grip the lid by placing a rubber glove over it the rubber grips better than yuor hand and you dont hurt your hand either.

Put a teaspoon under the edge of the lid to try and break the seal. Once air gets in the lid comes off easily. Good luck.x

Try tapping the lid all the way round with the handle of a metal knife. Usually works for me.

I always try the hot water method. The lid expands slightly so is looser (usually!)
