i was just about to put my rice pudding in the oven when i realised i've no sugar at all!
I've got desiccated coconut and syrup - do you think these would be any good? Can I add sugar after it's cooked? Help!

I have just found icing sugar - would that work, oldwoman?
could you nip next door and ask for a cup of sugar :-)
crisgal - I would bravely try the icing sugar if I were making it:) Isn't it just regular sugar ground finer?
I have used icing sugar in an emergency, but mix it with liquid first eg milk or water.
