I thought pigs in blankets were sausage rolls?

Anyhoo, just and idea but you could try those cauldron vegetarian sausages wrapped in pieces of softened leek or get some little onions and stuff them with a vegetarian sausagey mushroomy mix.
You can buy vegetarian bacon in the frozen food dept at Tescos. So with your veg sausage to match no need to miss out.
Do you have a brand there called Morningstar Farms? It is soy products. They have a bacon type strip and GREAT sausage type patty and a sausage type link too. You could wrap these in a strip of puff pastry and bake it - it would be BETTER than pigs in a blanket - and I am not even vegetarian!!! :)
How about a carrot wrapped in lettuce?

If they want something that looks like meat then for God's sake why not give them meat. Pathetic.
How about mixing some very small diced courgette, mushroom and onion, mix with some sticky rice or couscous and wrap in cooked cabbage leaves or vine leaves to make a little parcel with a cocktail stick through to hold.

You could add veggie bacon bits as well or little pieces of veggie sausage too.

Or veggie sausages in a honey and wholegrain mustard marinade in a light puff pastry jacket.

You could also make mini toasties or paninis with these in or something like veggie sausage and grated cheese.

You could also use spring roll or egg roll wrappers to use.

How about some filled jackets, bake some potatoes then take out the potato and mix with veggie sausage and cheese and some butter and put back in.

Sprinkle some grated cheese on top and grill.

You could also make a sweet and sour type batter mix or make mini savory pancakes and wrap them round and secure with a cocktail stick.

Holland and Barrett sell the veg equivalent in their fresh section- go to the fridge!
how about dates stoned wrapped in veggie streaky bacon. i use normal bacon n they are scrummy. sweet but savoury too.
