sorry meant to say, its often used in the phrase "a bagel and schmeer"

thanks again!
schmeer also schmear or shmear Pronunciation (shmr)
A number of things that go together; an aggregate: bought the whole schmeer.
A Yiddish term used here in the U.S. to indicate toppings for bagels, which are Jewish in origin. Usually means a spread of cream cheese followed by a spread of a fruit preserve... my favorite being strawberry preserves. The correct spelling is schmear and can also refer to lox and cream cheese on a bagel...
In some parts of britain we use the word shmeer to man SPREAD - just schmeer it on - SPREAD IT ON - it's probably came out of the cream cheese thing - it get's mentioned a lot on the OC as sandy is Jewish so that makes sense
*sorry mean to say SMEER AND SMEER IT ON
