Have friends coming for a meal soon and the husband has to follow a very strict dairy-free diet. Can anyone suggest a suitable starter, knowing that the main course will involve chicken.

Tiger prawn kebabs with a lime and coriander dressing. Italian bean soup or any other kind of soup. Avocado salad. Tostades with tapenade and sundried tomato paste. Mmmm! Check out bbc.co.uk/food for lots of good suggestions.
