Hi when I was in school about 10 years ago we use to have jelly with a little blob of cream on top. I really loved it but can't seem to find it anywhere. It used to be slightly hardened but then would melt in your mouth. Anyone what cream this is?
Also can I have the Recipe for chocolate cracknel (chocolate flyway) I used the link but it wouldn't work.

Is it Mock cream?

Mock Cream:

2 oz sifted icing sugar 1 gill of milk
2oz margarine few drops vanilla essence
 oz cornflour

Blend the cornflour with the milk and boil for three minutes. Allow to go cold and then beat into the creamed margarine and sugar, a little at a time. Add the essence and beat until smooth.

Hope this helps..I used to love that too!

i remember those - i suspect they made the jelly as normal and filled the pots and the cream is just ordinary whipped cream or squirty cream that has been in the fridge for ages and dried out a bit
All I remember having at school was a desert that we all called 'cast iron and custard', which flew all over the place when you tried to cut into it! Ah, those were the days.
