Roasting spuds with beef dripping

I've never done roasties in beef dripping, but I will in about an hour or so. Are they gonna be good?

Around 10pm I reckon - got turkey crown in there at the mo, then I'll put the spuds in. Bring a bottle!

Just me, I always do a roast every Sunday - usually meant to be in the avo/early eve but always ends up being really late after I start on the wine and AB! x

Beef dripping couldn't be better.....watch out for the foodie police telling you not to go there!!

Best fish and chips are the ones cooked in dripping - something you always knew you would get in the North of England......

Enjoy your bubbly-jock.....and if you have any dripping over I'll have a slice of toast with some on please, not forgetting the other no no some salt!!

Roasts aren't much trouble really, and I love 'em! No wonder you're starving though!! It's a couple of meals and sarnies for work sorted for a couple of days after, cos I'm lazy too! x

Hi n00dles, there'll be plenty left over for you, I can't quite bring myself to try that but I hear it's lovely. Old school stuff apparently! OK maybe I'll give it a whirl too!
and if your gonna do a yorkshire pudding anytime, whether on its own or as a toad-in-the-hole, beef dripping is THE one to use to give it that extra flavour........

Thanks - I've failed miserable every time I've tried yorkies. Need a gas hob to put the yorkie tray on and superheat. Just can't get it hot enough with electric. I just cheat now with Aunt Bessies, shameful isn't it!!

PS - just turned the spuds and they're sooo crispy already! Think I've found a winner!

I have electric hob (mores the pity) and always put my pan on there to get the dripping smoking hot - pour in the batter slam in the oven on the highest (listens for the fall-out - from fellow ABers) and then once they have started to rise and look like their going thro the roof, turn heat down a couple of notches...........

Oh make sure they are at the top shelf in the oven.....
