Whilst in the pub last night I noticed that on the side of a pint glass is a picture of the crest and underneath 2043. Does anyone know what this number means? Is it a year?

Glasses have to be tested to show they conform to the relevant Weights and Measures Act. The numbers relate to either a local authority or a manufacturer and the list can be seen here

It is the expiry date for the glass itself.
Expiry date for the glass would almost always be right up until the moment you drop it, nothing to do with the 'weight & measures' markings
