I'm not sure if I dreamt this or not, but I'm sure when I was younger I used to eat Milky Ways with brown centres and the white centres available now were only limited editions. Please help...am I going mad or colour blind, or both?

I'm sure you are right, I can remember the brown ones, but when did they change?

Thank you for reassuring me of my sanity! I vaguely remember an advertising campaign promoting the limited edition white centres and then suddenly the brown centres disappeared! I clever brainwashing plot...who knows?
The brown ones probably went longer ago than I realise. One for the over-35s - does anybody remember the rival product during the early/mid 1970s... Super Mousse! The pack had a cartoon moose dressed in a superhero-type outfit.
I think that Milkyway always had a brownish centre but several years ago Milkyway underwent a transformation and a new 'fluffy, lighter' centre was introduced. This new centre was also whiter in colour. I also remember the Supermoose bar - the same as Milkyway but the wrapper was way cooler - a Moose dressed like Superman !!
I remember the brown centred ones - much less sweet. There is a similar bar on the market now called Flyte and its meant to be low in fat (!). Think it's made by cadbury's but not sure. Anyone else know of Flyte bars?
I am 18 and remember brown-centered milky ways well so they cant be that old - i reckon about 10 years maybe? they started an advertising campaign to do with milky way that had been changed with star dust to white and i guess it was more popular. As for flyte bars - they look like the old milky way but are nowhere near as nice...............
Mars changed the recipe 11 years ago. It was originally the same stuff they now use in mars bars... and was an off white colour. Less sickly.
