Roasting Lamb in a fan oven.

I've bought a nice (and expensive!) joint of lamb that I want to roast tonight.

I've got a fan oven, and haven't yet got to grips with getting consistent results when roasting with it. And don't want to ruin this lamb by over/under cooking it.

My cookbook recommends roasting lamb at 225c for 13-15/lb +20 mins.

Does anyone know who much I should adjust either the temperature of the oven or the cooking times to take account of my fan cooker?

get a food /meat prong i use mine all the time and i generally take all my meat out when its reading about 67* usually meat is cooked at 75* and also meat will cook for a little while after taking out the oven as well

Thanks Sweetdor. I did get one of those, however I find mine unreliable, and no guarantee of success!

Usually for a fan oven you are advised to turn the oven down by around 10 degrees

Youve probably cooked it by now and eaten it but i always cook my meat on 170 180 cant tell you the times but if i do a chicken i give it 2 and a half hrs always perfect. Theres only 3 of us so i normally buy the ones in a tin that you bung in for an hour. I cook anything on 170 unless its frozen
