I believe it's something to do with chickens periodically standing on their right leg (I can't remember the exact reason) but this makes the right leg more sinewy, making the left leg seem juicier (after cooking, obviously) in comparison.
Chickens like most mammals has a heart which pumps blood down the left side of its body first - hence the left side has the first oxygen and nurtients making it juicy and tender - I know this is true but I bet most could not tell the diff. It also depends on how even the cooking is.
