ham and cheese or cheese and beans or cheeses and grated onion.

by the way i'm not a mouse it's just that cheese seems to go with everything

Haven't used my toastie maker for ages, really fancy one now.I used to buy those little tins called Toast Toppers(not sure if you can still get them)They made great fillers for Toasties if you are in a hurry.
Ditto Valsuey! I'd forgotten all about Toast Toppers - I used to love those too. Not sure how good for you they were tho - probably packed full of e numbers.
Just had a look on Tesco site and they do still exist! Cost 63p choice of 3 flavours.May just chance the additives for old time sake!
I agree - I'll be taking a trip down memory lane and putting them in my shopping basket this Friday! Thanks for doing the research valsuey

Thanks for replies. I scrapped my old Breville Sandwich Toaster years ago, but recently I was bought a George Foreman Grill for a present and I've started doing toasties on that. Chopped Ham & Pork or Spam with an egg cracked onto it makes a nice toastie, but you have to be quick with the egg, and it can get a bit messy. Tastes good though.
Try using wraps instead, fill with sliced cooked chicken tikka and cheese, roll up and cook it. Delish!
Sliced banana topped with cinnamon
For really cheap toastie use slices of haslet.

Have you tried a fried egg with marmalade?
Cream cheese and halved grapes.
Can't beat cheese and onion, or cheese and tomato in my opinion!
Bacon and stilton! Yum yum yum
If you're a curry lover, a layer of a chutney on the non-toasted side of the bread, covered with cheese and heated under the grill until it's bubbling is very tasty. Geeta's Premium Mango Chutney is particularly delicious. It's spicey, i.e. full of flavour, but not the chilli "hot" type of spicey.
