Recommended temperature for fridges and freezers?

Just got a new fridge/freezer and was wondering what temp each should be set to?

It should give you some guidelines in the instruction manual together with a diagram of what the temperature control scale is like on the appliance,doubtless it will have separate controls due to two different temperatures being required.

The fridge should be set to between 0 and four degrees celcius , To start I would go for zero and up it in a couple of days when it is properly chilled.


The freezer range is : the warmest it should not rise above is minus 18 right down to minus 30. Have you read the manual with some appliances you have to let the coolant settle for 24 hrs before using!
