Talking of eggs, it seems that the eggs I crack into a pan to fry always seem to have a broken yolk (despite being lowered carefully into the pan), whilst those I crack into a bowl to make an omelette or scrambled egg always remain intact (despite being dropped from a great height into the bowl).

Next time you want to fry an egg, NJ, tell it it is going to be part of an omelette and crack it into the bowl. Then, when it's not looking,
allow it to slide into the frying pan.

I had run out of eggs recently and had to buy them from the nearest supermarket.
The shells wouldn't 'crack', they chipped. Little chips of shell going everywhere and the shell would not open. Never had that happen before

If Mr M can open something the wrong way up he will. He even opened something the other day that was already open and it went everywhere! If it says open here he’ll inevitably be found with a pair of scissors hacking away at the other side of the box. Ho hum.
