I know some use them for recipes etc, but what else could they be used for?
I can't think of anything!

I know charity shops just bin things they think won't sell.

thanks

crafters use them to make various things that are sort of scrapbooks but not books...you might offer on freecycle or if you are on facebook, ask about local craft groups and upcyclers
We used to use them at university to keep a record of citations when writing dissertations but that was over 45 years ago before the advent of the PC.
Boy #1 used them to make revision notes for his GCSEs and A levels, he seems to have discovered a flash card app now.

thanks

yeah ive seen the scrapbooking thing, but they are usually old and weathered ones, ones with old fashioned 'character', old handwriting, faded inks, yellowed card etc - these are unused, still in plastic wrappers.
i have a plastic box, A-Z dividers and about 5 packets of the card.

i have a charity shop near me that used to put their rubbish out for the bins in the clear bin bags we used to get given - and i saw many many times, brand new, perfectly good items just thrown out.
on a couple of occasions, i took the bags, checked them and took them round to another charity shop - one i know puts stuff outside in boxes or on tables for free, rather than bin it.
i was pretty shocked by the quality of the stuff and couldnt see how certain things were chosen to bin - some of it looked very saleable.
but i know these will probably sit on a shelf for ages.
Like Sherr’s son, my daughter used hundreds of the things for her GCSE and A level revision, cost a flippin fortune.

Sherr, what’s the app?
It was just called ‘flashcards’(not very helpful, sorry).
Donate them to your local school - schools are so strapped for cash that they are grateful for any free stationery items.
