Tony, you should have waited until the towel went on

Never worked, Theland. In my neck of the woods they always rang the bell ( usually an old school bell ) 10 mins before the towels went on. And she would usually say 'I'll have a brandy and babysham' gawd blimey I was only on apprentice wages.

To bloody right I did, it was either a chowmein in a sit down Chinese restaurant or really pushing the boat out at a Berni inn.

No. On the 70s it was Blue Nun and a beef fondue, preceded by a prawn cocktail. Ah, happy days. :)
We then graduated on to Chateau Nerf Du Pap, or is it Pape.
