needing to look good for hols!!

hey everbody, am booking a late deal to cuba on the 2nd Nov and looking for a couple of tips or recipes (without starving myself) that i can use before i go to lose just a couple of pounds so i can feel more confident when sat by the side of the pool.

give up alcohol, caffeine, all processed food, anything with sugar added. Up your intake of fruit, veg and water.

fruit 4 breakfast,homemade veg soup for lunch and lean meat and veg no pots for dinner black coffee and water to drink, high in nutrients but low in fat.

I know this isn't part of the Q, but if you don't already walk an extra stop for the bus and take the stairs instead of the lift!  This should help too.
I second all the above � especially woofgang�s post, giving up sugar is one of the best things you can do! Also don�t starve yourself � if you�re hungry then eat! Just make sure you eat good things. Many people are under the misconception that if they don�t eat they will loose weight. If you starve yourself, when you next eat food your body will store it as fat rather than converting it to energy because it�s preparing itself for another bout of starvation. Also when you starve, you blood sugar levels drop. This makes you crave bad convenience foods. So if you get peckish mid morning try snacking on fruit, veg sticks, nuts, seeds or other healthy snacks. And I know you�ve probably heard it before, but make sure you eat breakfast - this is so important! Ideally you should eat within 2 hours of rising to end your overnight fast. Natural bio-live yogurt is a great way to start as it sorts out the bacteria in your stomach and reduces bloating. Follow this up with something more solid as yogurt probably wont be enough to keep you going for long. Hope that helps!

a bit random i know but just thought i'd say that i have just come back from living in cuba for 6 months and i promise you....the food is so so bad you will lose all the weight you need to when you get there!!! amazing country otherwise!!!

sorry to put a dampener on your holiday plans ,but hurricane wilma is due to hit this weekend -the florida keys and cuba have hurricane warnings -be careful

Thank you all for your replies, have been eating more fruit and cutting down on carbs and its working a treat!!

I was getting rather concerned about Wilma but thankfully whilst looking at a hurricane website, the area i am staying in will not be affected.
