I think I'd do one or the other or run the risk of the microwave drying the filling solid whilst the convection has barely browned the crust. One needs to know the right settings.

Is there a reason not to defrost using the microwave and then cook using convection ?

I have never tried defrosting a frozen pie before cooking - I imagined it would collapse and/or end up very soggy.

I usually cook it on convection for 50 minutes and was hoping to reduce the cooking time whilst retaining the crispiness of the pastry.
