Does anyone know of any websites (preferably British) with information on troubleshooting / fixing small appliances; my deep fat fryer has stopped working?

As with most appliances of this type, there's usually very little to go wrong... A fryer is, at it's most basic, just a heating element... The best course of action would really depend on whether the fryer is still within it's manufacturer's warranty, or whether you'd need to pay for it to be repaired. If the latter, and you're relatively comfortable with the concepts of electricity there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to poke about to see if there's anything obvious that gone wrong, such as corroded wiring for example... Replacing this yourself would then be a metter for your own judgement.
