Not chicken....but can thoroughgly recommend ham cooked in coke....then the stock used to make black bean soup...yum yum
Not chicken but boiled a peice of gammon in it then roasted the ham with a couple of cloves and honey over the trimmed fat. Nice.

I've got a shed load of mega-cheap chicken so I am trying to find lots of different ways to cook it - himself is dubious and the kids think I am joking about the coke.
I have done it, it was ok.
I've just googled and there seem to be a few recipes for chicken in coke...they all. look and sound delicious.
On no account use diet coke. That would just be wrong, wrong wrong.
Yes you can reduce the coke that was used to make a sauce, I didn't but it is supposed to be nice.

I've ordered full-fat coke. I'm going to use the chicken in sliders (poncey word for little bread rolls, makes it more interesting for the kids).
It doesn't work with diet coke or any diet drink. The heat destroys the artificial sweetness ans therefore a lot of the flavour.
Sherrard - can I interrupt your post to ask Woofgang to go to Dental Implants. Sorry for digressing. Thank you.

No problem JJ.
Yes,it was ok but I wouldn't do it again, as a novelty and it does keep moist

Wired, they can try it once, if it's awful I can always go round the chippie (the chicken was almost being given away so).

Only ate it once in Manhattan with daughter (showing off - only been there once) and it was delicious. I've experimented with it since and it's usually been pretty OK. Coke is, however, so bad for us that I've more or less abandoned it.
If you can't taste the Coke flavours when it's served then, next time, just add about 12 teaspoons of sugar to the sauce per can listed in the recipe. That'll be cheaper.

Forget cooking the chicken in Coke. Get some Schwartz Bag n Season Paprika Chicken sachets from the supermarket and put the chicken in the bag along with sliced red, yellow or orange peppers, courgettes, cherry tomatoes, or any other veg that you fancy. Follow the instructions on the packet and serve with baby new potatoes, potato croquettes or any other veg that you fancy. That is such an easy meal to prepare
Don't ever go anywhere near Coca-Cola for any reason whatsoever. There are a lot more interesting things to do with chicken - just Google BBC Food.
How will be the taste of this preparation. I think that it would not be the good one to mix chicken with coke.

It'll be fine - coke, an onion, some ketchup and chuck it in the slow cooker for five or six hours (the chicken was v cheap, if it's awful I'll go round the chippy!).
