If you check the links Shoota, it is shallow but not a plate as such.

Perhaps it would be more correct to describe it as a 'pestle and low sided bowl that is almost a plate but not quite but which bears no resemblance whatsoever to a stubby barrelled cannon designed for firing projectiles over defensive embattlements'?
