We buy them smoked here in the U.S. They're great for adding good flavor to white beans (we use Navy beans) served over cornbread with a side of freshly sliced Vidalia onions... especially in mid-winter... great southern comfort food!
Hint: Like any good southern food, it must be cooked in a cast iron pot. Ours is a hand-me-down over 125 years old.
Buy them frozen - recipe says to micro or roast I took a chance and boiled them for half hour - try it. going to bed - night all - am having round the sites. C
