I eat a lot of fruit and veg every day but I need to get more fibre in my diet. I have some Prewitts bran and would like to know how best to take it. At present I'm mixing it up with yoghurt and having it with fruit for breakfast. Any other ideas please?

You can use it mixed into other ingredients to make a topping for crumble, or make bran biscuits.
If you are adding bran make sure you add plenty of liquid to your diet otherwise the bran goes very hard in the bowel. Can I ask why you feel that you need more fibre?

Thanks Boxy and Woof - I'm following a Slimming World regime and, although it includes loads of fruit and veg, I tend towards constipation. I also have bloating problems for which I take an anti spasmodic and I think a higher level of fibre in the diet would help things move along.
Bloating can often be caused by too much fibre. How much fruit and vegetables is "loads"? Before you add more fibre, especially a dry form like bran, try adding in more liquid, maybe vegetable juices.

Good advice - will try that - its all a bit of a minefield isn't it? Thanks. Now off to see my OH in Somerset - 100 m drive - but a lovely day for it. Cheers.
Rosie: I'd have walked. 100 metres really isn't that far!
