I've never tried it,but I've heard that double cream-lightly whipped-can be frozen. A quick Google says both yes and no to freezing creme fraiche. Its likely to seperate-but may be fine in a sauce.
Double or Whipping Cream is OK if whipped before freezing - single cream can be frozen 'as is' but will only be fit for cooking/sauces etc.

Proper (full fat) Creme Fraiche survives OK, but can be a bit granular on defrosting - so is OK for sauces, but not as a topping.

The vile 'low fat' Creme Fraiche is destroyed by freezing - which is probably no bad thing.
