Rabbits are creatures of habbit, so perhaps you could try putting some of his droppings into the litter tray first.

If you haven't been to the HRS website yet, it is definitely worth a look. They have TONS of great information and advice. Good luck!!

Rabbits will generally use the same place each time so it makes it quite easy to clean up.  Mine wouldnt use a litter tray but lways used the same place so I would just clean up that corner.

hi yes ive tried putting the droppings back into the tray but it doesnt work he generally goes all over the cage so i guess i am destined to just being a slave to the dirty little oick lol thanks for all that gave me advice anyway.
With my rabbits I just waited to see where they wanted to poo and put the litter tray there. They are creatures of habbit so will always go in the same place.

Put some hay in the litter tray too so they can munch while they go!
I gave an answer to a similar problem here.  It was concerning a hutch rabbit I think but it should still apply as that is how we housetrained our first rabbit.
