We have been growing chillies in the greenhouse for a few years. We started out with Cayenne but this year we are trying some scotch bonnet too and they are pretty hot. Chillies are pretty easy to grow.

Hi ratty and thanks for the answer. I don't have a garden so no greenhouse, can these be grown in window boxes with clingfilm put on top?
The varieties I grow get pretty big, 4-5 foot so not really suitable for a windowsill. Maybe there are some dwarf varieties you might do better with but I have no experience of those.

Thanks again ratty. Do you or anyone else reading this know a good and reliable chillie seed vendor?
I have bought from an eBay seed stockist before or you can buy from good garden centres. This year some of my plants are from seed I saved from last years crop. Alternatively you might want to look out for young plants at this time of year, I normally sow my seeds in March.
I don't have the correct conditions, or patience, to grow my own chillies, but I buy in Bhut Jolokia in large quantities. They are extremely hot and would only recommend if you have a good toilet seat and a stash of loo roll. Posting a link for a reliable source that I use:

Was you name inspired by the late 'Whiffey'?
Peppers, including chillies, will grow quite happily on a kitchen windowsill. As to seeds, any shop or store with a seed packet display will usually include a couple of chilli varieties.
