Sterilised Cream

Is sterilised cream, ( in tins ) still made?
My friend asked me to pick her up some tins of sterilised cream for a recipe.
I've been to Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Co-op, and Premier, and no-one seems to stock it.
They have not run out of it as there are no shelf labels or empty spaces on the shelves, and the young assistants just give me blank looks when I ask them.

I think that young assistants get issued with blank looks as part of the uniform.

Thanks Chris, just looked at the link, thats brilliant, I'll try again. The Tins are larger, they used to be packed in small flat tins, like tuna tins. Now I know what to look for. X

I agree woof, along with, the gum and the mobile phone stuck to their ear.
I waited at the till in Home Bargains before Christmas, while the cashier had a conversation on her mobile with her mate. I lost my patience when she repeatedly ignored me, and walked out leaving a full trolley by the till, went to BM instead. Daughter was horrified....You can't do that Mum..... But I did. X

I remember tipping a tin of this on top of a trifle and trying to spread it, most of it sank into the custard. No one (my mum) thought to put it in a bowl first, maybe with a drop of milk, and give it a good stir, would have spread a lot better.
Gosh, I can still remember the taste...

That's just taken me back years to to my aunts finicky Sunday salad teas and her tinned strawberries and sterilised cream! she thought it was such a treat!
