I used to be able to buy tinned plums in supermarkets years ago. Where have they all gone to?

Still available in the supermarkets I use.
Yep, you can definitely get them in Tesco. Well, the one I use anyway:-)
I can get plum sauce - lovely with roast duck!
Perhaps they've used all the plums to make my sauce, lol!
Plenty of fresh plums in the shops this time of year if you're interested baz.
I went to a PYO yesterday to pick Victoria plums. To-day I have made a plum crumble, about 6lb of plum jam and a crunchy plum cake (which turned out better than I expected!) - OH has had 2 pieces!
I have a running battle with Tesco - in the last couple of years, all they have sold is nasty Spanish plums, where our farmers are ploughing Victoria plums back into the fields. Disgusting.
Thieves stole ours again as they do every year just as they are ready for picking. They don't leave a single one.

Have stewed some today but wanted them in tins rather than bottling them. Have tried large superstores near me - Tesco, Waitrose, Asda and Sainsburys, Marks - have even tried specialist delis/other ethnicity shops - must just be my area.
